Hoisin flap steak with shatakis, served with cauliflower in a brown butter miso glaze. Hot and sweet peppers from our rooftop vegetable garden. Food is the very best.

We had a fantastic dinner party last night. Casey made Vietnamese sausage in lettuce wraps with all sorts of fixings and sauces. The pineapple anchovy sauce isn’t pictured but kicked all manner of ass.

Very kind comment on dinner last night. We had a great time.

Green curry with ling cod on a bed of quinoa. Would have been a 15min meal if I didn’t have to run to the store for ingredients.

There’s nothing like a fried egg with fish sauce on rice to complete a meal.

Came home with a desperate home cooked meal craving. Been heavily influenced by Jamie Oliver’s show 15 min meals. This was a 20 min Laska served with pork mediations.

Having gotten a handle on bread I’m now moving onto homemade cheese. Very first attempt here, basically just fresh curd with salt and pepper. One week left till I get back to work, any DIY kitchen suggestions for the next 7 days?

Finally made it out to Rain City Burgers. This place is be a Seattle institution, not the best burger in town anymore, but still worth the stop on your burger tour.

Bread making is getting better and better. Anyone living in Seattle want to come pick up a loaf? I have a sourdough starter in the fridge that needs to be fed like the plant from Little Shop of Horrors.

I have been going bread crazy. Picked up a book by some SF hipster named Josie Baker and have fallen right down the rabbit hole. I now have a thriving sourdough starter and that means that these loaves have only three ingredients: flour; water; salt.

It also means that I’m making WAY more bread than we can eat. Anyone living in Seattle want some? All you have to do is swing by our place in the ID and pick up your loaf!
